I can’t believe we are in the last quarter of the year. It seems like it was yesterday when the issue of Billboard Magazine came out featuring Post Malone. I got to be his personal groomer while they shot at his home in Salt Lake City. Doing hair and makeup in Utah has allowed me to meet all sorts of personas, it is always exciting and fresh not knowing who I get to meet. I am passionate about what I do. Since I did a career switched from engineering to makeup artistry 5 years ago, I look back and see how much I have been able to grow by meeting and interacting with people from all sorts of backgrounds. All I can say is that at the core, we all want the same things in life, happiness, in whatever form that looks like for us.
This shoot was a reminder of doing what you need to do in life to find that peace in your heart. Post Malone shared about why he decided to move to Salt Lake City. Struggling with uneasiness and anxiety in Los Angeles, he then decided to find a more peaceful pace here in the mountains. For him it was moving away from the Los Angeles scene, for me it was swtiching careers, for others it might be leaving an unhealthy relationship or starting a new adventure or staying exactly where you are. Regarless of your circumstances I hope we all can find that peace.
Love,
Nikra

Working in the film industry during the pandemic has brought some unique experiences, doing hair and makeup for a production comes with unique responsibilities to keep the talent (actors) safe. From wearing shields, to sanitizing the makeup tools and desinfecting products. A new standard has been established and I am thankful that I get to work on some amazing projects!
